Description

Intro: Posterior pelvic tilt in back squatting may increase the risk of low back injury. Hip joint geometry have been suggested as the main cause of pelvic tilt.

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the association between hip joint geometry and posterior pelvic tilt during the back squat.

Method: We measured posterior pelvic tilt during the barbell squat in forty-three subjects, using marker-based 3D motion analysis. We extracted seven different variables, that were thought to possibly affect the joint range of motion.
